REIKI for Humans and Animals
What is REIKI?
REIKI is an ancient healing art and science using universal life force energy to promote balance, healing, wholeness and consciousness.
REIKI is a simple, natural and safe method of energetic healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in assisting with virtually every known illness and discomfort and always creates a beneficial effect.
It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
How does REIKI work?
REIKI is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through each and everyone of us.
REIKI goes to the source or root cause of any injury, illness or pain.
If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress.
If it is high, we are more capable of being happy, healthy, balanced and whole.
REIKI brings the body into harmony by clearing blockages in all the body’s energy systems.
What are the benefits of REIKI?
REIKI treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing..
Rather than treating symptoms, the REIKI energy activates your Inner healer, healing and balancing all the energy systems of your body.
REIKI complements medical treatment for serous illnesses like cancer.
It may help alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy or other treatments or surgeries.

What does a regular REIKI session look like?
A typical one hour REIKI session begins with a confidential client interview, to better understand the client’s situation and their goals for the Reiki treatments.
The client then lies on a massage table, fully dressed, while I place my hands in healing positions on or over the body.
There are standard hand positions for REIKI healing, and I am also guided by my intuition as to where to place my hands and how long to hold the position.
The REIKI energy always goes to where it is most needed.
Clients find the treatment puts them into a state of deep relaxation and well being.

What does a distance healing look like?
There are several reasons to choose a distance healing.
Our office might be too far away, time limitations, or avoiding commuting/travelling time…
REIKI energy may be guided to a person or animal anywhere, as long as a request is made and the client is willing to receive. A distance healing treatment will take about a half hour and is scheduled at a particular time. Prior to the session I need to know what the intent of the session is and what you would like to be worked on.
After the session I will exchange with the client what I perceived and what he/she experienced.

How does REIKI work on Animals?
REIKI is ideal for animals, because it is gentle and non-invasive with yet powerful results. Animals are very receptive to REIKI and they respond naturally. Often you will see an animal come right up to a REIKI Practitioner, “asking” for the REIKI energy.
The application and benefits are very similar to working with humans (see above).
We experience greatest results in the case of pain release and balance of emotional issues, increasing vitality with senior animals, and preparation for shows and competition.
REIKI is beneficial
- if your pet will be having surgery as well as post-surgery
- for any animal who has over exerted themselves and are sore
- for pets with chronic problems such as arthritis or hip problems
- in transition situations such as the loss of a companion pet or the loss of an owner
- for Senior and Special Needs pets
- for helping a pet who is dying as well as the family members
REIKI energy treatments have also been used in numerous animal shelters around the world to help physically and emotionally injured dogs recover, help them relax and adjust to their new situation, recover from surgery and help some of them to become adoptable.
What does a regular session with an Animal look like?
A 20-30 minute REIKI session is completely controlled by the animal and its needs.
The animal will show me if it wants to be touched or not, how much REIKI energy it feels comfortable receiving and for how long.
In case of shy, dangerous or wild animals Reiki can be done remotely.
Working with REIKI on animals can be done several ways:
- Sitting or standing near the animal in a safe, preferably quiet, comfortable area where the animal and REIKI Practitioner are undisturbed.
- Hands on. Your animal may, part of the way through the session, settle down in your lap or position themselves against your hands. This is done only with the animal's permission. A horse for example may come over and move themselves so you are touching them. A dog, cat, bunny, ferret etc. may crawl up in your lap or sit right in front of you.
- Working remotely, either near the animal or by distant treatment
We come to your house/stable to work with your animal because experience has shown that the REIKI treatment can be received best in the familiar environment of the animal.

Will REIKI work on any Animal?
Yes, REIKI will work on any animal including: horses, dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters, gerbils, reptiles, etc…
Can I learn REIKI and use it for Myself and other Humans and Animals?
REIKI can be learned easily and is accessed through an initiation process.
Although there are different levels, you can benefit of the healing effect of REIKI right after your first attunement.
